Cullen goes extra mile for new transport client
Success
‘highlights shortcomings’ in
some company pensions support
Leading
logistics company, Brit European Transport Ltd has appointed
Cullen Financial Planning to take over the management of
its company pension scheme, prompting an immediate 50% increase
in employee take-up.
Cullen
has overseen the transfer of the company’s existing
contributory pension plan into a new scheme with Friends
Provident, in the process encouraging over 100 staff, almost
two-thirds of the company’s total clerical, administration
and driver workforce, to sign up.
Brit
European, based in Crewe, is a leading pan-global provider
of logistics solutions in automotive, bulk liquids and contract
distribution. Its Financial Accountant, Barry Lawton believes
the success of the new pension scheme is not just a ringing
endorsement of Cullen’s commitment to customer service,
but serves to highlight the shortcomings of some other,
more established pension providers.
“We
were very dissatisfied with the way our previous advisers
– a major national organisation – managed our
pension scheme, and the lack of regular contact and advice
our employees were able to receive.
“However,
Cullen’s professional, pro-active approach has been
very refreshing, even going the extra mile to contact all
staff, including many of our drivers out on the road, to
discuss details of the pension plan with them.”
Cullen
director, Shaun Moran believes Brit European’s experience
is not uncommon. “We’re increasingly finding
organisations, often SMEs, who are still keen to offer company
pension schemes but find there is a lack of quality information,
consultation and advice available.
“At
a time when there is so much concern and uncertainty over
pensions, it’s imperative that both employers and
employees have confidence in the advice they are being given,
and are kept fully informed on the details and performance
of their own scheme.”
Cullen
Financial Planning, based in Stockport, is one of the leading
firms of independent financial advisers in the North West,
with a large team of qualified advisers who specialise in
all aspects of retirement planning.
